2020 Tennis Protocol

Procedures and Safety Recommendations

Since tennis does not require any direct person-to-person contact, players can enjoy the many physical and mental benefits that tennis offers so long as you practice social distancing to ensure you are in a safe exercise environment and follow other safety recommendations included here. If you choose to play tennis, be sure to practice these safety tips and recommendations.

First, please review Tennis Canada’s tips and recommendations.

Once you have read Tennis Canada’s guidelines for before, during and after playing, please follow the below protocols specific to CW Racquets.

Before You Play

1. All players MUST book their court times on ClubLocker to ensure we know who is at the club at all times.

2. ClubLocker is set up for 75-minute time slots, but players are expected to be off the court in 60-minutes to allow a 15-minute gap before the next group of players are scheduled. This will limit overlap of people and minimize exposure to fellow members.

3. For the time being, the court lights will remain off and therefore please schedule your matches during daylight hours.

4. Please wait in your car, or in a safe distance from other players before your match and only enter the courts at your scheduled time.

5. The building will be locked at all times. There will be no access to the change rooms, bathroom and water fountain.

6. If you have equipment (shoes, racquets, balls, etc...) in your locker, please contact the club to organize a safe way to retrieve your equipment.

7. CW Racquets will not be lending out any equipment to use. Therefore players must bring their own balls and racquets. 8. A hand sanitizer station will be set up outside the front gate of the tennis courts. Please use the hand sanitizer before and after you play your match.

While Playing

1. Please try and keep a safe distance from all players and avoid interactions with players on the other court.

2. CW Racquets is following the recommendations from Tennis Canada and the guidelines listed above.

After Playing

1. Once again please use the sanitizer station to clean your hands and wipe down and equipment you believe others may have touched.

2. Please ensure that you have collected all of your belongings (clothes, water bottles etc...) and cleaned your court of any equipment (balls, cones, racquets, etc...).

3. Once your game is finished, we ask that you leave the property as soon as possible. 4. We ask that you not stick around to watch other matches and avoid using our benches and picnic table to limit surface contact.

Thank you for taking the time to review this information and we hope it will help to minimize everyone’s risk and exposure to Covid-19. We want to welcome you back to the club and wish you good luck in your coming matches.

Stay healthy and active!
