Junior Squash Update: Celebrating Growth, Fun and our Fall Tournament
Rebuilding our junior squash program has been an exciting journey, and we're thrilled to be heading into our second year of the Saturday Junior Squash program at the club!
Since covid, growing junior participation has been a big focus for us, and it's been amazing to see more kids on court, learning, improving and having fun!
Each season -- Fall, Winter, Spring -- we run a weekly Junior Squash program (usually 8 weeks) designed to help kids develop their skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. One of the highlights of every session is our end-of-season mini tournament, where kids get the chance to test what they've learned.
This past Saturday, we wrapped up our Fall session with the tournament and it was a big success! Players were organized into two divisions, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and challenged at their own level.
The energy, effort and sportsmanship from all the kids was fantastic to see!
Congratulations to all the kids for participating and to our winners!
Division 1 (Competitive division) - Winner: Brody Stewart, Finalist: Liam Fitzgerald
Division 2 (Development division) - Winner: Amelia Fitzgerald, Finalist: Kit Hamm
Winter Junior Squash is Coming Up
Our Winter program will start on Saturday, January 3 and last for 8 weeks. To finish off the session, we'll once again host a fun end-of-season tournament on Saturday, March 7.
We're always looking to welcome new junior players -- whether they're brand new to squash or already have some experience.
Squash is a great sport for building confidence, coordination and friendships, and our program is designed to make learning fun and approachable.
If you know a child who might be interested in trying squash, or if you'd like more information about our junior program, please reach out to the club -- we'd love to have them join us on court!
