Smashing Success! A Recap of Our November Open Squash Tournament

The club and courts were buzzing with energy from November 14-16 as we hosted our annual CW Open Squash Tournament! It was an incredible weekend of squash friendships, sportsmanship and unforgettable matches right here at our club. We were thrilled to welcome 64 talented players, both men and women, members and non-members, who showcased their skills across 9 divisions: Men's A, B, C, D, E and Women's B, C, D, E.

A Community United by Squash

It was fantastic to see such a strong representation from our own club, with 22 of our dedicated members stepping onto the court to compete. In fact, 5 of the 9 divisions were won by CW Racquets members so we are extremely proud of that!
The atmosphere was electric, enhanced by the friendly rivalry and camaraderie shared with players who traveled from racquet clubs across Ontario. We extended a warm welcome to our guests from Toronto, Stratford, Waterloo, Kitchener, Port Elgin, Brampton, Georgetown, Mississauga, Cambridge, St. Catharines, and Guelph. Thank you to everyone who made the journey – your participation truly elevated the tournament!

Thanks Yous

Aside from all the terrific players who supported the tournament, we also have a few others to thank.

Fraberts Fresh Food in Fergus provided an amazing dinner for the players on Saturday. Pulled chicken on a bun, Caesar salad and a yummy sundried tomato pasta salad helped fill everyone's tank after a long day of squash. Fraberts also kindly donated some fresh fruit for the players to snack on throughout the tournament.

Fergus Tim Hortons provided warm coffee for the players both mornings of the tournament. Friday evening, players were treated to delicious pizza from Victoria's Pizza in Fergus.

We were also fortunate enough to have some of our prizes sponsored. Thank you to Wellington Brewery for donating 4-packs of beer as prizes for our tournament winners. And to Squash Ontario for providing their comfortable branded socks as prizes!

It was a terrific weekend and we look forward to hosting everyone again next year for the 2026 CW Open!
